Camp Whitsett offers over twenty traditional merit badges, a COPE course, mountain biking, hiking, and white-water rafting in an idyllic mountain setting. Older scouts can look to Sierra Expeditions for additional challenge and adventure.
Camp Whitsett also offers BSA training classes for youth and adults to strengthen troop leadership and cohesion for the rest of the year.
The Beaver Program is our week long SPL or senior leader training. It helps build your scouts leadership skills through resolving conflicts, ethical choices, the patrol method, and being a positive role model for the scouts in your troop. Participants will arrive in the week before their troop arrives so that when the entire unit arrives they will be prepared to get the most from their experience at Camp Whitsett.
Adults can attend trainings like Scout Master and Assistant Scout Master Specific Training, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills, Climb On Training, Trek Safely, Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, and others.
See our forms page for more information about facilities, programs, transportation, and preparation.
